Jury Announcement: Jessica Dunn Rovinelli

With our Early deadline behind us, we here at Long Distance Film Festival are very excited to announce Jessica Dunn Rovinelli as the first member of this year’s jury. She, along with her fellow jurors, will decide the three winners for this year’s jury prize.

Jessica Dunn Rovinelli is a film director, editor, colorist, and critic based in New York. She is the director of two award-winning feature films and several shorts, which have played at festivals including Berlinale, IndieLisboa, and BAM Cinemafest. Her most recent feature, So Pretty, “observes a tight-knit group of trans and genderqueer artists, writers, activists, living interwoven lives in a Brooklyn apartment, and in the electrified city streets.” (Sentient.Art.Film) Rovinelli is also a recipient of grants from the Centre national des arts plastiques (Paris), New York Foundation for the Arts, and Film Independent. In 2019, she was selected as one of Filmmaker Magazine‘s 25 New Faces of Independent Film. Her writing has appeared in Filmmaker Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, Non-Fiction Journal, and many more.

Find her work at her website.

We will be announcing the rest of the jury in the coming months. Stay tuned!
